Toronto Police identified a Six Nations woman whose body was pulled from the Humber River and confirmed it’s being investigated as a homicide.
Investigators responded to a suspicious incident just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the Humber River area, south of Dundas Street West.
A woman’s body was discovered and pulled from the river. She was pronounced dead in hospital.
The victim was identified as 56-year-old Ruth Ann Longboat of Six Nations Reserve.
The homicide unit has taken over the investigation, which police say is active and ongoing. Investigators remain in the area carrying out inquiries to “establish the full circumstances of the occurrence.”
Toronto Police urge anyone who may have seen Longboat or witnessed any suspicious activity on or before March 5 to come forward.
